Wurtsboro Art Alliance
First Invitational Juried Salon Exhibition
July 4th – August 9, 2009
Artist Reception July 11th, 4 – 8 pm
Submissions of all media up to 42” framed or standing in any direction. All work must be original works of art created in the last two years and not previously exhibited at WAA Gallery. No prints with the exception of photography as medium.
Subject: Any subject with expression, content or derivation of the title: HUMBLE NATURE.
Artist may submit four (4) works as 300 dpi jpgs, high quality 8 x 10 color prints, slides (no glass) or a CD. Please fill out the registration form completely with art submission. Art submission(s) of art must be received no later than May 14, 2009, 5 pm.
Accepted artists will be notified by mail, e-mail or phone by May 22, 2009.
If work is accepted it must be available for hanging by June 22, 2009. All work must be professionally matted/framed or constructed with wire on the back for hanging with artist name and contact information on the back of the work. A form will be provided upon acceptance.
All art must be for sale. Gallery Commission fee: 80% for Artist, 20% for Gallery
Jury Committee: Al Singer , Charles Beck, Denny Frye , Roberta Rosenthal, Lynn Issacson. Exhibit curated by Roberta Rosenthal, ASBA, GNSI, SI, CAS, WRS, WAA.
Jury Fee: WAA Members free, Non- Members $25 non refundable fee. An additional $5. gives non members a years membership at WAA Gallery. Fee check made out to Wurtsboro Art Alliance must accompany registration.
The artist is responsible for delivering art by June 22nd and picking up the art at the gallery by Aug 10th at their own cost. The artist is responsible for insurance on the art in transportation and at the gallery.
If art is selected Artist gives permission for the gallery to use the art work(s) for advertising in print or electronic media for promotion. A People’s Choice Award will be given at the reception of the exhibit at 7:30 pm. WAA will provide refreshments at the artist reception, July 11, 2009.
The Wurtsboro Art Alliance, was established in 2005 to promote the arts in the Town of Mamakating in Sullivan County, NY. The bi-level exhibition space has hi ceilings, carpeted, good lighting and has won awards for it’s excellence. Sullivan Renaissance created a new water feature garden commemorating the D & H Canal outside the gallery.
